Weird Tales with Dorothy Gale

Asylum Girls (Currently in-serialization)

by Dorothy Spencer Gale, with help from Ra-Ra Allen
Asylum girls is the story of two children, Dolores Partridge and Henry Darnell, lighting the fire of a child revolt at a Kansas asylum in the nineteenth century. It is a dark fairytale, and features some harsh dread, but is ultimately a story with an inspiring, strong anti-eugenics message, and lovable child heroes, which I hope will bring mirth equal to its terror. Asylum Girls is inspired in equal part by the fantasy novels of L Frank Baum, the Realms of the Unreal created by Henry Darger, Genesis’ album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Through the Looking Glass, Peter Pan, and innumerable Victorian Edwardian fairy
